I have only had this logo for a short time, but yet people keep asking me to explain it in better detail. I have a very healthy respect for the Egyptians and their accomplishments in history, and this is shown in a lot of my designs. Hieroglyphs consist of three kinds of glyphs one of which is phonetic glyphs, including single-consonant characters that function like an alphabet. My logo derives from the hawk hieroglyph that represents “A” and functions as the first letter of their alphabet.
Now there is a little discrepancy when it comes to my name’s
origin one of which is that the surname Abshire is a
spelling variation of the name
“Upshire” or Hawker.
The fonts I use to brand myself are “Impact” and “Goudy old
style.” I make a joke that Impact is my spirt typeface because
we are both large bold and solid, its a sans serif so its clean and modern yet has a feeling of structure
that is great for headings. Goudy old style was chosen for
completely different reasons while impact gives a feeling of
structure Goudy old style has a humanistic quality from its
perfectly imperfect serifs with a variety of weights makes it
perfect for body copy.
